I haven’t read about these in a while, but one of the neat things I remember was that the software kind of ran in “the cloud”: You could take an app running on a pad, move it to a tab, and carry it with you, then move it onto another pad somewhere. Also, the tab wasn’t an actual phone, but it could act like an ID badge, and if you were in someone else’s office at PARC, it would forward your calls to their desk phone.
I wonder what these guys think of the state of tech today? Guess I better go read the article…
