“Life” begins two weeks before conception according to new Arizona bill
“Under Arizona’s H.B. 2036, the state would recognize the start of the unborn child’s life to be the first day of its mother’s last menstrual period.”
The intention behind the redefinition of “life” to the gestational age is to shorten the window that abortions are allowed from 20 weeks to 18 weeks.
This bill passed Arizona’s state senate and will be presented the state house soon.
If Texas secedes, can we give them Arizona as a going away present?
The thing that shocks me most is that it has actually passed the state senate. A bill like this should have died immediately. It’s becoming apparent that Arizona is maybe crazier than Texas….
so what you’re basically saying is that not only is a bunch of flour and some eggs a cake as soon as i throw the mix into the oven, but now it’s a cake as soon as i put the eggs into the fridge from my shopping bag, even if i don’t get flour for two more weeks.
ok… seriously. I’m an AZ native.
Please keep the discussion/rage limited to the legislation, not the state. Quite often, ones government does not represent their people.
Wisconsin, anyone?
I’m actually very happy and proud about where I’m from. We are highly fractured, yes. But there are many people here fighting the good fight.
Remember, semantics matter. We should condemn the act, not the people. Keep focus. Rhetoric only incites further rhetoric, which I think may lay at the root cause of this legislation.
I am also a native Arizonan, and if you all decide to take off and nuke the place from orbit, I understand. It’s the only way to be sure.
