  1. The naming of cats is a (sort of) difficult matter.

    If a black cat follows you home at midnight… “Poe” is a pretty safe call for a name. (It helps if you’re a big Poe fan, too, like I am.)

    He loves to roll around, so it’s also short for “roly-poly.”

    (His initial working title was Bradbury, in honor of Ray, but it just didn’t work. Didn’t suit him.)

    I once knew of a guy who named his cat, “‘Ted.” It was short for “Shithead”.
