A Dream Like Mine

  1. “Neil Armstrong: (1) Loses part of the wing of his F-86 in combat over North Korea and flies back to friendly territory; (2) lands his F-104 in the mud [with Chuck Yeager in the back seat] at Edwards AFB; (3) makes the first on-orbit emergency abort in Gemini 8, saving himself and Dave Scott with seconds to go before they pass out; (4) bails out of the LLTV trainer less than half a second before it inverts and crashes - parachutes through the fireball - and GOES BACK TO THE OFFICE THAT DAY; (5) fights computer lockups, evades boulders, and safely lands on the Moon with almost no fuel left. Gets done in by complications from surgery. Doesn’t seem fair.”
