I’ve done the “hand on shoulder” thing on occasion. Sometimes I lack the energy to get up and cross the room, though. But I appreciate this because it reminds me that I have options.

And we have these same convos, about respecting “No.” My guys don’t want to hear it. Maybe it’s primal or something. But I keep impressing the importance on them.
I know from experience that if I repeat something often enough, eventually it gets through. It’s been known to take months, but then there is that delightful surprising day when I hear what I’ve been saying parroted as if it was his idea all along. Thank you for reminding me of that. I’ll keep impressing, too.
