I used to have to touch Jay sometimes. Hand on shoulder or whatever.
I’ve done the “hand on shoulder” thing on occasion. Sometimes I lack the energy to get up and cross the room, though. But I appreciate this because it reminds me that I have options.

Every parent yells. That is normal. We’re way better than my parents and Dan’s. And we have these same convos, about respecting “No.” My guys don’t want to hear it. Maybe it’s primal or something. But I keep impressing the importance on them.
I know from experience that if I repeat something often enough, eventually it gets through. It’s been known to take months, but then there is that delightful surprising day when I hear what I’ve been saying parroted as if it was his idea all along. Thank you for reminding me of that. I’ll keep impressing, too.
